Translating Research Beyond Academia - Science Communication
Syllabus
The purpose of this course is to train emerging researchers to communicate beyond the discipline-specific journal by developing research translation and science communication skills. In these weekly seminars, students will learn effective strategies for communicating research and academic knowledge with general audiences. The interdisciplinary seminar features presentations and hands-on exercises led by campus and regional experts with expertise in aspects of research translation and science communication. Students will learn conceptual and practical approaches for sharing academic knowledge and research with communities, school students, youth, the general public, industry, and media audiences. Graduate students from any discipline are welcome; postdoc auditors welcome too. Part of the Translating Research beyond Academia seminar series. For more information, contact crspier@ucdavis.edu.
