Research Support Core E
Research Translation

James R. Sanborn, Core Leader

The Research Translation Core partners with governmental agencies, carries out functions in the area of technology transfer, and communicates research information to broader audiences who have a stake in the research products of the program. This core seeks to capitalize on the strengths of the program, adds professional implementation and accountability, and proposes an innovative new cross-disciplinary model for technology transfer. Core personnel work on several fronts with program personnel including investigators and students, campus administrators and staff responsible for research development, public relations and technology transfer, to develop coherent and practical plans to take research information and products to targeted constituencies and consumers.

I. Identify research products and information emanating from the projects and cores of the program that could have an impact on or be of value in the improvement of public and environmental health.

II. Develop strategies to communicate these research products and information to appropriate audiences and stakeholders utilizing and partnering with existing programs, resources and units at UC Davis, within the UC system, other SF program projects, as well as local, state and federal government and industry.

III. Evaluate whether these strategies have been effective in communicating relevant research findings and or products to appropriate audiences.
