NIEHS/UC Davis Superfund Basic Research

and Training Program

Pre-Doctoral Fellowships Available

Application Deadline:  May 29, 2009

Pre-doctoral trainee positions will be available for the 2009-2010 academic year from the NIEHS/UC Davis Superfund Basic Research and Training Program, a multidisciplinary program project.  This program was established to further the EPA/NIEHS mission of protecting environmental and human health.  Thus, research plans and statements should make clear the relatedness of the proposed work to Superfund goals.  Since the Superfund program encourages multidisciplinary approaches to problem solution, proposals containing cross-disciplinary training or collaborative research are especially welcome.

Any graduate student in the lab of a Superfund investigator or any graduate student (independent of current Superfund affiliation) that is interested in on-going projects or generating exciting new collaborative projects with Superfund investigators is eligible to apply.  A list of projects and investigators affiliated with the UC Davis Superfund Program may be found by visiting http://www-sf.ucdavis.edu.  The fellowships are a combination of Graduate Student Research (GSR) assistantship fellowships, work study fellowships, and non resident tuition waivers.  The GSR fellowships and the work study fellowships provide stipend and fee support of selected trainees.  The work study fellowships are limited to individuals eligible for work study, i.e., US citizens and permanent residents.  Trainees will have the opportunity to participate in symposia and attend relevant local or national scientific meetings to present research results.
